Man Attempts to Rob F.C. SunTrust Bank, Gets Apprehended

An adult male allegedly attempted to rob the SunTrust Bank at 603 W. Broad Street in Falls Church between 2 – 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, but was unsuccessful by all measures, according to information from the Falls Church Police Department.

The police said that the man entered the bank, slipped one of the teller’s a note and implied he had a weapon, but he did not. A bank employee notified the Falls Church Police Department and the suspect, who received no money, attempted to flee the bank through the back door.

Officers caught the man 30 feet from the back door. No one was hurt and police that there is not threat to the public. The Falls Church Police Department has not released the identity of the man who was apprehended.
