F.C. Resident Riva Levinson Discusses Her New Book

Falls Church resident Riva Levinson, author Choosing the Hero: My Improbable Journey and the Rise of Africa’s First Woman President, will be discussing her memoir at Barnes & Noble, located at 6260 Seven Corners Center, Falls Church, on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m.

Levinson raised her family in Virginia while traveling to some of the world’s most dangerous places, from Mogadishu to Baghdad. She also worked with Nobel Prize recipient Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, president of Liberia, to help her become the first woman elected to the office in the entire continent of Africa.
