Area Residents Get a Chance to ‘Slide the City’

The nationally-acclaimed production by Sack Lunch, Slide the City, is coming to Tysons Corner on Saturday, Aug. 6 from noon – 7 p.m. The water slide will begin at Westbranch Drive and Jones Branch Drive in Tysons and will conclude 1,000 feet later.

There will be several other activities for residents to participate in at the event aside from the slide, like live music and food. Sliders must be at least five years old and over 46 inches tall to use the water slide.

The company that’s hosting the event suggests that participants bring sunscreen, a swimsuit with no sharp objects attached, shoes and payment for the slide, if they haven’t already prepaid.

There are 30 free tickets available for teenagers who need emotional-behavioral support (particularly Autism, Down’s Syndrome and Attention Deficit or Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorders). Those teenagers must bring an accompanying adult chaperone who will be present for the entire time at Slide the City. For more information on the free tickets for special needs teens, email bonita@bonitawoods.org.

Tickets for the slide cost $40 until the day of the event, when the price goes up to $45. For more information, visit slidethecity.com/location/tysons/#387.
