Del. Marcus Simon told the F.C. Chamber Tuesday that Virginia U.S. Senator Tim Kaine is a “60-40 favorite” among Democratic party insiders to be chosen to be Hillary Clinton’s running mate in this year’s presidential election. One advantage to the choice of Kaine is that if he were elected, the person who would appoint his replacement would be a fellow Democrat, Gov. Terry McAuliffe.
Simon said the word is that McAuliffe is not interested in a senate seat himself, but would prefer, if she won, a cabinet level position in the Clinton administration.
