Falls Church resident Mark Byrne produced, wrote and directed the film “Subconscious Reality,” which recently won 2nd place in the Sci-Fi Feature Category at the 2016 Indie Gather International Film Festival. His wife, Donna Byrne, acted in the film, as well as Mark, Jim Lynch, Shaun van Steyn, Manuela Costecu-Maier, John Maier and Liza Hoang.
The film was screened on Sunday, July 17 at Window 54 in Falls Church and was well-attended by the film’s cast and crew and their friends. The film is a post apocalyptic sci-fi action film about a world run by a corporate board that has eliminated the citizens and is now looking for a mole within its own ranks.
The film touches on elements of George Orwell and “The Prisoner,” with a backdrop of the dangers of corporate greed and control in a world gone amok. Among the nine locations where the film shot was Art and Frame of Falls Church. To watch the film’s trailer, visit vimeo.com/167472594.
