F.C. School Board Votes Erin Kelly New Principal of Mt. Daniel Elementary

The Falls Church School Board emerged from a closed session Tuesday night to announce the nomination of Erin Kelly, the current assistant principal at Mt. Daniel Elementary School, as the new principal of the school, becoming the replacement for Kathy Halayko. When her name was announced, a large cheer arose from the sizable audience of mostly parents and teachers, many of whom were there to express criticism of the system The vote of the board was 6-0 (with Erin Gill absent).

The School Board then entered into another work session to hammer out its budget for the coming fiscal year in which it was awarded almost $1 million less than it requested from the Falls Church City Council.
