Eighth grade students in the band and choir at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School recently had a successful trip to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, where they competed in the Music in the Parks festival. The band received a first place trophy with an excellent rating and the choir received a first place trophy with a superior rating. Blaine Morse and Juliana Melton both received outstanding soloist awards.
