Heavy Traffic Expected in F.C. as Peruvians Vote

Thousands are Peruvians are expected to vote at either of two of Falls Church’s polling places on Sunday, April 10 as part of their home country’s presidential election, which is expected to cause heavy foot traffic and vehicular traffic in the City, the City of Falls Church cautioned in a recent press release.

George Mason High School and Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School, located next to each other at 7130 and 7124 Leesburg Pike, respectively, are being rented out as polling places from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. on April 10 for the Peruvian election.  City of Falls Church and Fairfax County Police are coordinating plans for keeping traffic moving, including having extra personnel on site.

Visitors to the polling places have been encouraged to use public transit. The City of Falls Church reminded drivers planning on commuting by car to the polling places that shopping center parking lots are for customers only and cars may be towed if parked illegally.
