Crime Report: Attempted Strong Arm Robbery at S. Washington 7-Eleven

A man attempted to take cash from a register of a 7-Eleven on S. Washington Street before fleeing according to the latest Falls Church crime report: The attempted strong-arm robbery took place last Wednesday. In other crime news, two people were arrested for shoplifting last week – one at CVS and the other at Giant –  a wallet was stolen from Dogwood Tavern, a purse was taken from Starbucks and a house on Birch Street was burglarized.

On Valentine’s Day, a 49-year old Falls Church man was arrested for robbery and assaulting a family member on E. Broad.

City of Falls Church Crime Report: February 8 – 14, 2016

Shoplifting, 1150 W. Broad St. (CVS Pharmacy) On Feb. 8, a male, 47, of Alexandria, was arrested and released on summons for Shoplifting.

Larceny of Motor Vehicle Parts, 200 block Hillwood Ave. On Feb. 9, sometime overnight an unknown suspect stole a license plate from a vehicle.

Residential Burglary, 1000 block Birch St. On Feb. 9, police received a report a residence was burglarized sometime on Feb. 1.

Trespass, 6757 Wilson Blvd. #16 (Café Le Mirage) On Feb. 9, Hiep N. VO, 35, of Falls Church, was arrested and released on summons for Trespassing.

Attempted Strong-Arm Robbery, 201 S. Washington St. (7-Eleven) On Feb. 10, an unknown suspect attempted to take cash from the register.

Larceny from Building, 1218 W. Broad St. (Starbucks) On Feb. 10, an unattended purse was reported stolen.

Driving Under the Influence, 100 block W. Broad St. On Feb. 12, a male, 73, of Capitol Heights, MD, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Shoplifting, 1230 W. Broad St. (Giant Foods) On Feb. 12, a male, 49, of Ashburn, was arrested and released on summons for Shoplifting.

Larceny from Building, 132 W. Broad St. (Dogwood Tavern) On Feb. 12, an unattended wallet was reported stolen.

Larceny, 300 block N. Spring St. On Feb. 13, a yard sign was reported stolen.

Domestic Assault and Robbery, 400 block E. Broad St. On Feb. 14, a male, 49, of the City of Falls Church, was arrested for Robbery and Assaulting a Family Member.
