Marianne Bohr Speaks at One More Page Books

Writer, editor and French teacher Marianne Bohr will appear at One More Page Books, located at 2200 Westmoreland St. #101, Arlington, on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. for an author talk. Bohr will be sharing from her book Gap Girl: A Baby Boomer Adventure Across 21 Countries at the event.

In the book, Bohr and her husband free themselves of the shackles of the ordinary life, at least for a year, a revisited places they encountered in their youth, recapturing what was and creating fresh memories along the way. Also, she describes what it’s like to kiss your job goodbye, sell your worldly possessions, pack your bags, and take off on a quest for adventure.

Page by page, she recounts the experiences, epiphanies, highs, lows, struggles, surprises and lessons learned as she and her husband journeyed as independent travelers on a budget – through medieval villages and bustling European cities, unimaginable culinary pleasures and the entertaining (and sometimes infuriating) characters encountered along the way.
