3 Shot Outside State Theatre Early Monday Morning

Three people were shot outside The State Theatre as a crowd at the City of Falls Church venue exited the theater after a show early Monday morning. All three victims received non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred when police were responding to reports of a fight in progress as the crowd exited the theater after a Northeast Groovers and Scarface show. Police say shots were fired on Park Place in the parking lot on N. Washington Street while they were on the scene. Despite being present when the shots occurred, police were unable to identify the shooter.

The suspect is described as 5’8″, slender male wearing dark clothing. Police say no further information on his description is available at this time and there are no photographs or surveillance video of the incident to release at this time.

The victims, all adult males, are in hospitals. Police report one victim went into the theater for help while the other two drove or were driven to a hospital in Frederick, Maryland.

The show, a go-go concert, taking place at The State Theatre last night was billed as “Love, Peace & Unity” on the venue’s website.

Police ask anyone with information to call them at 703-248-5053 (TTY 711).
