Crime: No Holiday for Vehicle Break-Ins in Falls Church

There was no holiday for vehicle break-ins in the City of Falls Church as four more vehicles were ransacked during Christmas week. On December 23, two vehicles on George Mason Road and another on Seaton Lane were broken into and had their passenger compartments tampered with and another car on Poplar Drive had belongings stolen from it.

In other crime, two people skipped out on their bill at Lesly’s Restaurant, somebody tagged a traffic sign on Little Falls St. with graffiti, a 16-year old boy was arrested for marijuana possession and the Good Fortune Supermarket in Eden Center was robbed at gunpoint on Christmas Eve.

 

City of Falls Church Crime Report: December 21 – 27, 2015

Larceny from Building, 601 S. Oak St. (Thomas Jefferson Elementary School) On Dec. 21, a musical instrument was reported stolen.

Defrauding an Innkeeper, 306 Hillwood Ave. (Lesly’s Restaurant) On Dec. 22, two individuals left the restaurant failing to pay the bill.

Graffiti, 400 block Little Falls St. On Dec. 22, graffiti were found on a traffic sign.

Tampering with Auto, 100 block George Mason Rd. On Dec. 23, passenger compartments for two vehicles were found in disarray.

Narcotics Violation, 500 block W. Broad St. On Dec. 23, a 16 year-old male, of the City of Falls Church, was arrested and released on summons for Possession of Marijuana.

Tampering with Auto, 1300 block Seaton Ln. On Dec. 23, a passenger compartment was found in disarray.

Larceny from Vehicle, 100 block Poplar Dr. On Dec. 23, personal belongings from an unlocked vehicle were reported stolen.

Larceny from Building, 1000 E. Broad St. (24 Hour Fitness) On Dec. 24, an unattended cellphone was stolen.

Robbery, 6751 Wilson Blvd. (Good Fortune) on Dec. 24, an unknown man displayed a gun, took cash and left. No injuries were reported. The man is described as a black male, about 6’0″, medium build, wearing a gray sweatshirt, a black hood and dark pants.

Public Drunkenness, 6700 block Wilson Blvd. (Eden Center) On Dec. 24, a male, 48, of Fairfax, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.

Vandalism to Vehicle, 6757 Wilson Blvd. (Eden Center) On Dec. 25, a car window was found smashed in the parking lot.

Robbery, Washington & Old Dominion Trail near West St. On Dec. 27, police received a report of a robbery. Further investigation suggests there is no do direct threat to the general public as testimony cannot be corroborated with evidence.
