McLean Winterfest Parade Slated for December 6

The 7th annual Winterfest parade, during which McLean residents watch as 50 paraders proceed down Old Chain Bridge Road, is slated for Sunday, Dec. 6. Pre-parade activities, including live entertainment from Bob Rosenbaum and choruses from Springhill, Franklin Sherman, Kent Gardens and Westgate Elementary Schools and food vendors, will begin at 2:30 p.m.

A stage will be set in the Langley Shopping Center and WUSA9’s Peggy Fox will call the parade, which kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Parade entrants will begin at Fleetwood Road and proceed to Elm Street if in a vehicle and to Curran Street if marching. Giant Foods will donate warm apple cider and hot coffee in the volunteer tent.

Old Chain Bridge will be closed to all traffic from 2:15 – 5:30 p.m. For more information, visit mcleanwinterfest.org.
