Maryanne Pollock Takes ‘Refuge’ at Scheslinger Center

Artist Maryanne Pollock and her two 18-foot canvases will be the featured artist at Northern Virginia Community College’s Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center in a show called Refuge, which will be on display from November 14 – January 14.

The large scale printed, painted and stenciled canvases will be exhibited in the Schlesinger Center’s large space. According to a press release about the show, “Refuge references both the destruction and re-imagining of a hanging gardens of Babylon and a cradle for our collective human civilization.”

The opening reception for the show will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Schlesinger Center, located at 4915 E. Campus Dr., Alexandria. For more information, visit nvcc.edu/schlesingercenter.
