Artist Darcy Meeker Features at Gallery Underground

Artist Darcy Meeker, who’s based in Blacksburg, will be the featured artist for November at Gallery Underground, located at 2100 Crystal Drive, Arlington. Her show Bumps and Grinds features a cohesive body of stone and metal work and runs from November 2 – 27. It will be exhibited in Gallery Underground’s Main Gallery.

Meeker tools copper (from earrings – 38-foot wall work) and creates sculpture in stone, clay, silk and aluminum. In her mixed media work, she paints, collages and prints on a variety of materials with the same wide-ranging enthusiasm.

In the Focus Gallery, members of the Arlington Artist Alliance will have their work, including sculpture, glass, ceramics, jewelry, watercolor, oil, acrylic and mixed media, featured. The featured artist this month will be Patricia Andril, who does colored pencil works, as well as mini-shows during November for “Small Works” and a tribute to American Pop painter, Wayne Thiebaud.

Both shows have opening receptions on Friday, Nov. 6, from 5 – 7 p.m. For more information, visit galleryunderground.org.
