The Falls Church Episcopal Opens 2015-16 Season

The Falls Church Episcopal recently announced the opening of its 2015-16 Community Concert Series with a free show by the Navy Band Brass Quintet on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. The Navy Band Brass Quintet will be performing works for the whole family, including classical, popular and patriotic music.

The show will be held in the church’s main sanctuary at 115 E. Fairfax Street. There is no cost for admission to the concert, but donations will be collected to help support the Young Musicians Scholarship Fund, which is operated by the church in cooperation with Falls Church High School Band Boosters.

At the beginning of the 2015-16 school year, The Falls Church Episcopal presented a check for $3,000 to the Falls Church Band Boosters as money raised during the 2014-2015 Community Concert Series.  That money will be used to pay for lessons and rental instruments for students who show promise in music but don’t have the resources to advance their music education, according to Maria Markus, Falls Church City Schools Band Boosters president. For more information, visit thefallschurch.org or call 703-532-8818.
