Fairfax PD Collects Over 1,900 Pounds of Unwanted Medicine

The Fairfax County Police Department collected over 1,900 medicine and medical supplies at Operation Medicine Cabinet Cleanout on Saturday, Sept. 26. During the event, all eight of the county’s district police stations collected unused, unwanted prescription medication.

All of the medications and supplies were transported to the Northern Virginia headquarters for the Virginia State Police shortly after the end of the event on September 26. From there, they were transported for safe, proper disposal.

In a press release about the medication collection, the Fairfax County Police Department thanked Acting DEA Administrator Chuck Rosenberg, representatives from the Unified Prevention Coalition of Fairfax County, and the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America for taking time to visit the Sully Police District during the event.
