A portion of South West Street will be closed for up to two weeks starting this Wednesday, Sept. 23, as the City of Falls Church’s South West Street reconstruction project moves into phase two. The street will be closed for one to two weeks, the City says, from Poplar Drive to Fowler Street and a detour for through traffic will take drivers from Parker Ave. to S. Spring Street and Poplar Drive.

The City project is reconstructing aging infrastructure along S. West St. and repairing stormwater facility crossings and failing pavement when needed. Where the pavement does not need to be repaired, the street surface will be milled and repaved.

More information and a look at past and future phases of the project can be found on the City of Falls Church’s website.
