City Offering 2 New Classes for Senior Citizens

The City of Falls Church’s Senior Center, located inside the Falls Church Community Center at 223 Little Falls Street, is offering two new classes over the next two months. The first is Museum Masterpieces: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which begins on Sept. 17.

The course, which will be held on Thursdays from 10 a.m. – noon, will cover European sculptures, costumes, textiles and American art before World War II and will be taught on video by Dr. Richard Brettell.

What’s Up with Apps? is the other new class being offered by the city and it starts on November 5. In the class, students can learn about using applications on their smartphone or tablet. The class, which will also meet on Thursdays from 10 a.m. – noon, is free and will be taught by Marymount University professor Diane Murphy.
