Northern Va. Community College Hosts STEM Career Fair

Northern Virginia Community College’s Workforce Development Division will host a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Career Fair at the Annandale Campus from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30.

The career fair will be located in the Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center, located at 8333 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, and is free and open to all job seekers.

Workforce Development is expecting participation from a number of major companies and local businesses including Science Applications International Corporation, a Virginia-based information technology company.

“We don’t want to just put on a typical career fair. We’re working with interested companies and confirming with a few of them to do on-the-spot interviews,” said Radhay “Kris” Chowbay with the Workforce Development Division. “Through this fair, we want to help talented STEM job seekers find new careers. We also want to do as much as we can to attract new talent to the area and keep and grow local talent.”

In preparation for the STEM Career Fair, the Workforce Development Division will also host a Resume & Interview Prep Workshop from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14. For more information, call 703-323-3281 or email NOVA_CustomizedTraining@nvcc.edu.
