Fairfax County Police reported that they arrested Tracy E. Lewis, 48, of Alexandria, on Wednesday, Sept. 2, for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on a commuter bus in the late morning of Saturday, Aug. 29. According to a press release about the arrest, officers were called out to the 5500 block of Leesburg Pike in Falls Church for a reported sex offense.

The police said that an investigation determined that the victim, an 18-year-old woman, boarded a commuter bus at Lee Highway near Annandale Road and Lewis allegedly sat down beside her and engaged her in conversation.

According to the police, Lewis inappropriately touched the woman and prevented her from getting out of her seat and then exited the bus near Lee Highway and Carlin Springs Road. The victim, who did not require medical attention, got off at the next bus stop and called police.

Lewis was arrested by the Alexandria City Police in their jurisdiction and charged with the outstanding Fairfax County  warrants for abduction and sexual battery.
