Concert Commemorating End of WWII Slated for Aug. 16

Dean Martin’s daughter and pops singer Deana Martin and tenor Daniel Rodriguez were the featured guest at a concert commemorating the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II on Aug. 16 at Schlesinger Concert Hall on the Alexandria campus of Northern Virginia Community College. The concert was presented by the Medical Musical Group Chorale and Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to commemorating the end of World War II the concert was a tribute to the country’s veterans and military personnel with the message “Celebrating our victory, by calling for national healing and unity.”

The 200-member chorale and symphony orchestra performed “It Is Well With My Soul”, the beautiful hymn performed at the Charleston, SC memorial service that was attended by the President a few weeks ago. Martin sang “GI Jive”, “Nothing But the Best”, “The Lady Is a Tramp” and Rodriguez sang “Nessun Dorma”, “Heal Our Land.”
