Ben Hemmens, a stay-at-home dad from Greater Falls Church, will be competing on tonight’s episode of “Jeopardy!,” which is scheduled to air at 7:30 p.m. on WJLA-TV, an affiliate of ABC.

Born in Portland, Maine, Hemmens is husband to Kimberly Overbeek and father of three, Will (10), Sophie (8), and John (6). The family moved to the area in 2008 and the children attend Belvedere Elementary School.

Hemmens took an online Jeopardy test in January 2014, along with 100,000 other people. The show called him back for an audition in DC in May of 2014 to which about 250 people showed up. Though he didn’t think he did exceptionally well in the audition, Hemmens was called in March of this year and was told to come on the show. You’ll have to tune in tonight to find out how it plays out.
