F.C. Council, Schools Meet Tuesday on Land Use

The Falls Church City Council and School Board will hold a joint meeting next Tuesday, July 7, to hear a report from consultants Cooper Carry and VHB on their efforts to glean from a range of members of the community what form they would like the development to be like of the nearly 40 acres that was transferred by Fairfax County into the city limits of Falls Church last years last year. The property is supposed to be dedicated predominantly to educational use, but 10 acres can be subject to commercial development.

Tuesday’s work session will begin the process of the Council and School Board leading to the composition of a “request for proposal” advertisement to solicit interest from the development world. The session will begin at 7 p.m. in the Council chambers at City Hall.
