The News-Press’ own graphic arts designer Nick Gatz has won the first prize in the Washington Nationals’ #VoteNatsArtwork contest, and as a result he is invited to go onto the field prior to Friday’s Nationals game and present the Nationals’ line up card to the umpires.

The last time a Falls Church person won a Nationals’ contest was when the young Samuel Waters won the audition to sing the national anthem at the start of a Nationals’ game in 2007.
