F.C.’s Grace Mann Dies at Mary Washington University; Suspect in Custody

Grace Rebecca Mann, 20, of Falls Church was found unconscious by housemates and subsequently died at the Mary Washington University hospital in Fredricksburg at 3 p.m. Friday, according to an NBC-TV report. Charges are pending against a suspect in the case, Steven Vander Briel.

Mann was reported as a junior at Mary Washington from Falls Church, according to the university’s Office of Student Affairs. She was a history and American studies major with a minor in practical ethics and an executive board member of Feminist United, an active member of PRISM, an appointee to the President’s Task Force on Sexual Assault, and a member of the Student Government Association Senate.
