Silent bidding began last night at the new Hilton Garden Inn at Falls Church Tree Fest, an event aimed at raising funds for local nonprofit organizations. Throughout the weekend, bidders will put forth their best offer on Christmas trees decorated by either local nonprofit organizations or businesses supporting a nonprofit of its choice.

Bidding will conclude on Sunday at 3 p.m. and the winners each of the trees will be announced at 5 p.m., with the proceeds from tree sales going to the nonprofit organization that decorated the tree or had a tree decorated on its behalf.
