Eric Lin is a Finalist in MTNA Junior Piano Competition

Eric Lin, a 14-year-old freshman at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, will travel to Knoxville, Tenn. in January to compete as a divisional finalist in the Music Teachers National Association’s Junior Piano Competition.

The three-tiered competitions begin at the state level. Winners of each state competition advance to the divisional competition and division winners proceed to the national competition.

Lin earned his spot in the divisional competition after winning the Virginia’s Music Teacher National Association’s Junior Piano Competition. He’s been studying the piano for nine years and is currently a student of Dr. Marjorie Lee.

The division finals of the Music Teachers National Association’s Junior Piano will take place on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2015, during the association’s Southern Division Conference. The winner of that competition will move on to the national finals during the Music Teachers National Association’s national conference in March 2015.
