Belvedere ES Students Recognized for Their Artwork

The Belvedere Elementary School Parent Teacher Association is hosting an awards ceremony this morning to honor students for the imagination and creativity they used for their entries in the 2014 National Parent Teacher Association Reflections program.

The National Parent Teachers Association’s Reflections program encourages students of all ages to explore and be involved in the arts in an educational way. Students at Belvedere, and across the nation, submitted artwork in a variety of media that interpreted the theme “The world would be a better place if…”

During the event, the participants in the program will be recognized by members of the Belvedere Elementary School Parent Teacher Association and school administrators. The event will also feature an exhibit of the students’ artwork and will be judged by local artists.

Judges include Garrett Green (music), Larry Golfer (photography), Anne Simon (literature), Stephanie K (visual art) and Margie Jervis (visual art, dance choreography and film production). Winners of the art exhibit will move on to the district level.

The awards ceremony and art exhibit is this morning, Nov. 6, from 8 – 9 a.m. in the library at Belvedere Elementary School, located at 6540 Columbia Pike, Falls Church.
