
With unusually mild weather as a further incentive, the turnout was reported as “brisk” in all three City of Falls Church voting precincts Tuesday.
City of Falls Church voters are casting ballots on a proposed Mt. Daniel Elementary School bond referendum and in a special election to fill the unexpired term of retired treasurer Cathy Kaye. On the regional stage, Democrat Mark Warner battles Republican Ed Gillespie for a U.S. Senate seat and Donald S. Beyer, Jr., a Falls Church businessman and former two-term Virginia lieutenant governor is heavily favored to fill the 8th congressional district seat vacated by Rep. Jim Moran.
