Major Traffic Delays Expected at Broad and Washington for Next Three Weeks

The City of Falls Church has advised drivers of maintenance work being done to upgrade the traffic signal wiring at the intersection of Broad Street and Washington Street from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. for the next three weeks. A city contractor will be trenching across three legs of the intersection to install a new conduit and wiring. The anticipated completion date for the trenching is Nov. 7.

The maintenance work will be confined to a single lane at any time, but the traffic impacts could affect all four legs of the intersection. The upgrade project will continue through November, but the work will be conducted primarily outside of travel lanes or conducted at night, with minimal impact to traffic.
