“A Pilgrimage of Images,” a mixed media exhibition by Heidi Christensen, will be on display from Friday, Nov. 14 – Sunday, Dec. 14 in the Margaret W. and Joseph L. Fisher Art Gallery, located in the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall & Arts Center at the Alexandria Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.

The show’s opening reception is Saturday, Nov. 15, 3 – 5 p.m. with an Artist’s Talk at 4 p.m. The gallery’s hours are 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday. The Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall & Arts Center is located at 4915 E. Campus Dr., Alexandria.

Christensen paints in the classic tradition of layering glazes of oil color to create a running stream of images on an odd assortment of non-traditional surfaces on familiar objects in a way that blends her experience of being an artist, wife, daughter and traveler.
