F.C. Schools See 9th Straight Year of Record Enrollment

For the ninth consecutive year, Falls Church City Public Schools saw its enrollment increase with a record 2,457 students enrolled at the City’s four public schools this year. The F.C. school system is required by the Virginia Department of Education to provide official enrollment numbers on which funding for the coming year will be based by September 30. The 1.49% increase, according to data from the F.C. school system, is the smallest increase since the 2008-09 year. Last year, Falls Church schools had 2,421 students in its system and saw a 6.56% increase over the previous year.

Thomas Jefferson Elementary, with grades 2 through 5, is now the City’s largest school with a total of 758 students, a 7.5% increase in its second year as a four year school; last year the school had 705 students. After an expected expansion, however, second grade will soon be relocated to Mount Daniel, relieving over-capacity conditions at both schools.

According to F.C. school numbers, enrollment at all Falls Church City Public Schools for the 2014-15 school year is as follows:
