FCCPS Seeks Transportation Employees

Falls Church City Public Schools (FCCPS) is looking for qualified applicants to join their transportation team, according to the FCCPS website.

FCCPS currently has openings for school bus drivers, substitute bus/activity drivers, a non-car CDL driver for special needs students and a bus aide, according to the website.

All of the positions are part-time and require a split shift – working in the mornings to bring students to school and in the afternoon to take students home.

According to the job listing, bus drivers are allowed to bring their children or grandchildren along for regular bus runs and daytime field trips. FCCPS will provide a training program for new hires, which they’ll get paid for after successfully completing the training.

Each driver has to complete pass required initial and follow-up physicals, drug and alcohol screenings, driving record standards and criminal background checks.

They also have to participate in regular training programs and maintain a good driving record. Bus drivers have must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License and successfully complete a certification program. Visit fccps.org for more information or, to apply for the job, visit fccps.org/jobs.
