City of Falls Church to Hold ‘Recycling Extravaganza’

The City of Falls Church Department of Public Works will host the Recycling Extravaganza on Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., according to a press release from the city. City residents may bring hard-to-recycle items to the Property Yard and Recycling Center, located at 217 Gordon Road, Falls Church, for recycling or reuse.

The items the city will accept include electronics, cell phones, clothing and textiles, bicycles, printer cartridges, eyeglasses, hearing aids and medical supplies such as crutches. Free paper shredding will also be available. All items will be recycled, reused or donated to charity. The city is also looking for volunteers for this event.

For a full list of the acceptable items and information about what happens to each item after it’s been handed off to the city, visit fallschurchva.gov/RE. For more information about the Recycling Extravaganza or to volunteer, contact Allison Lohrenz at 703-248-5456 or recycling2@fallschurchva.gov.
