The auditorium at George Mason High School was filled to overflowing this morning for the annual “Back to School” convocation where Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones, Vice Mayor David Snyder, School Board vice chair Justin Castillo and Education Association’s Amanda Blanchard made brief remarks and longevity service awards were presented to teachers and other employees of the system.

Honored for 35 years of service this year was Margaret Ohr, who works in the central office, and for 30 years of service Thomas Jefferson Elementary librarians Jennie Ehrenzeller and Helen Heil, along with the Henderson Middle School’s Michael Malone.

Classes begin throughout the Falls Church system next Tuesday.
