Silver Line Ridership Solid for First Week

In its first week of operation, the Metrorail System’s new Silver Line that runs from Wiehle Road in Reston to Largo, Maryland with a stop and transfer point from the Orange Line at the East Falls Church station, an average of 15,900 riders boarded the line daily at each of its five new stations in Northern Virginia – McLean, Tysons Corner, Greensboro, Spring Hill and Wiehle Road. The busiest stations were Wiehle Road and Tysons Corner. The Metro system’s goal is to attract 25,000 riders from each station per week, and it is hoped to achieve that goal once the summer ends.
