‘Cops’ to Chase ‘Robbers’ at Costumed 5K in Washington

Registration is open for the inaugural Cops and Robbers Run, a costumed 5K chase organized by a Falls Church-based events start-up, which will take place on Sept. 6 at 9 a.m. at the RFK Fairgrounds. Participants are invited to dress up and run as cops or robbers through obstacles, sirens and smoke to a coffee-and-donut party at the finish line.

The run will start with a jailbreak by the robbers and then the cops will be released a minute later to tag as many robbers as they can before crossing the finish line. After the chase, participants can redeem tags for entries into a prize drawing.

Early registration is closed, but the standard registration fee is $40 for robbers and $50 for cops; an extra $5 is tacked on for late registration. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to The DC Police Foundation. For more information, visit copsrobbersrun.com.
