Rain Barrels Available for $65 at F.C. Property Yard Saturday

The City of Falls Church and its partners invite the public to purchase a rain barrel for pick-up at a distribution event this Saturday, July 12, from 1 – 4 p.m. at the City’s Property Yard, 7100 Gordon Road, Falls Church.

Barrels cost $65, and can be reserved by visiting arlingtonenvironment.org/RainBarrel and scrolling down to the “Reserve a Pre-Made Barrel for Pick-up” option.

Rain barrels can be attached to downspouts to capture runoff from the roof. By installing a rain barrel, residents can provide their plants with untreated water, reduce their municipal water bill, and prevent water from running off into streams to help moderate stream erosion and the resulting pollution that is impairing the Chesapeake Bay.

For rain barrel benefits and installation questions, call 703-248-5456. Registration-related questions can be directed to 703-324-1428.
