F.C. Police to Offer Rape Aggression Defense Course

The City of Falls Church Police Department is offering a free Rape Aggression Defense program next month to teach women realistic self-defense tactics and techniques.

The program is open to women ages 12 years and older. Classes will take place Aug. 18, 20, 26, and 28, from 6 – 9 p.m. Participants are required to attend all four courses. Classes will be held at Columbia Baptist Church, 103 W. Columbia St., Falls Church.

Taught by nationally certified instructors from the City of Falls Church Police Department, the RAD program is a comprehensive, women-only course that addresses awareness, prevention, risk reduction, risk avoidance, and the basics of self-defense. RAD is not a martial arts program.

There are a limited number of spaces available. For more information and to register, email ksdempsey@verizon.net or call 703-248-5061.
