Twin sisters Eli and Patricia Leonard of Falls Church, both third graders at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, competed in the REV3 Rush sprint triathlon last month at the Richmond Speedway. Both are competitive swimmers in the Washington, D.C. area. The event was their first time competing at a high-level youth triathlon for the Mid-Atlantic area. The two-day event consisted of four heats of swimming (100 meters), biking (3.1 miles) and running (.75 mile). Eli and Patricia placed third and fourth, respectively.
