Mason’s Murphy & Mothershead Win NSLI-Y Scholarships

George Mason High School students Arman Murphy and Anne Mothershead were recently selected for the U.S. Department of State’s National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) program.

The program provides scholarships in summer and academic-year overseas immersion programs for students learning less commonly taught languages.

Murphy will study Persian in Tajikistan, and Mothershead will study Russian in Kazan.
