Former Mason Runner Earns College Rookie Honor

George Mason High School graduate Jesse Schaffer, a first-year student at Hobart College, was honored by the Statesmen Athletic Association and the Hobart Athletic Department at the annual Block H Awards dinner on April 28 with the Rookie Award for cross country. 

Schaffer ran in all 10 meets for the Statesmen this fall. He registered his best 8k time of 28:40.0 in his final race of the year, the NCAA Regional Championship. Schaffer’s best finish was at the Hobart Invitational, where he came in 27th place.
