F.C. Library Invites Kids to Retell Stories With Peeps

Easter has come and gone, but for many those marshmallow Peeps remain. But the Mary Riley Styles Public Library is inviting children to give those confections a literary reinvention with its Peeps Story Show and Contest.

Students in grades K – 12 can recreate their favorite children’s or young adult books in a diorama using Peeps. Awards for favorites will be presented in two grade group categories: grades K – 5 and grades 6 – 12.

Entries can be dropped off at the library this Thursday, May 1, from 5 – 8 p.m. and this Friday, May 2, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Entries will be on display at the library this Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., except during judging, which will occur from 10:45 – 11:15 a.m. An awards ceremony will follow.

Mary Riley Styles Public Library is located at 120 N. Virginia Ave., Falls Church. For more information, including complete contest rules, visit the library’s Youth Services Desk or call 703-248-5034.
