George Mason High School FIRST Robotics Team 1418 Vae Victis proved itself as a top team at the Virginia Regional this past weekend. At the conclusion of 96 seeding matches, Team 1418 was ranked second out of 64 teams. They went on to captain the second-seeded alliance, along with Teams 435 and 2383, all the way to the finals and ended up as Regional Finalist No. 1.

Team 1418 was also the recipient of the Industrial Design Award, sponsored by General Motors. This award celebrates form and function in an efficiently designed machine that effectively addresses the game challenge.

Team 1418 is scheduled to compete at the Greater DC Regional March 27 – 29 at the George Mason University’s Patriot Center. Friday and Saturdays events are free and open to the public.
