Falls Church businessman and former Virginia Lieutenant Gov. Donald S. Beyer Jr. now among 11 candidates seeking the Democratic nomination this spring to replace retiring Rep. James P. Moran, was the winner of a straw poll Saturday night at a Democratic Party event in Mt. Vernon, gathering 105 of 416 total votes cast for the 11 candidates.
A total of 470 people attended the Mt. Vernon Democrats event, and 419 voted in the straw poll.
