LWV of F.C. Forum to Discuss Agricultural Policies

This weekend, the League of Women Voters of Falls Church will presents Our Food: Who, What, How, Why? The forum, a discussion of how agricultural policies and procedures affect daily life, will take place this Sunday, Feb. 23, from 3 – 4:30 p.m. at the Falls Church Community Center, 223 Little Falls St.

Forrest Pritchard, Bill Garvelink, Elaine Apter, and Chris McMaugh will speak at the forum. Pritchard is a family farmer, public speaker, and author of “Gaining Ground: A Story of Farmers’ Markets, Local Food, and Saving the Family Farm.” Garvelink, a former ambassador, is the senior advisor for global strategy for International Medical Corps and helped to initiate Feed the Future, the U.S. government’s global hunger and food security initiative. Apter is an agriculture committee member of the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County, Maryland. McMaugh is a manager of The Local Market in Falls Church.
