By unanimous votes, the newly-seated Falls Church City Council Monday night elected from its ranks P.David Tarter as the City’s new mayor and re-elected David Snyder as vice mayor. Tarter’s name was placed into nomination by outgoing mayor Nader Baroukh in what had clearly been hammered out in advance.

First elected to the Council in May 2012, Tarter, an attorney by day, had served as chair of the City’s Economic Development Authority.
