2 from Longfellow Win Top Model UN Honors

Two Longfellow Middle School students earned the highest achievement award of Best Delegate during a recent Model United Nations competition, the Greater Washington Conference on International Affairs, held on the campus of George Washington University.

Nate Buchanan was named Best Delegate for his role as the Defense Minister of India on the India and Pakistan Joint Crisis Committee and Camille Richter earned Best Delegate honors for her role as the Shah of Iran in the Iranian Hostage Crisis.

Longfellow’s Ellie Hall earned the award of Honorable Delegate for her role representing Equatorial Guinea in the African Union Committee.

More than 300 students from the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, including 34 from Longfellow, attended the conference.
