Volunteers Needed to Plant Street Trees

The Neighborhood Tree Program seeks volunteers for three fall events.

The first is happening this Saturday, Oct. 26, when volunteers will be planting 25 trees to shade and beautify the community and soak up stormwater. Those taking part in the planting will meet up on the 500 Block of Timber Lane at 8:30 a.m. for a quick planting demonstration and then form teams of new and experienced planters to spread out and work across the City. Volunteers should wear boots or heavy shoes, gloves, and clothes that can get dirty. Light refreshments and extra tools will be provided.

Events are also scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2, at 8:30 a.m. and Sunday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m.

For more information on the Neighborhood Tree Program, a partnership between the City of Falls Church and the Village Preservation and Improvement Society, visit vpis.org/trees. To RSVP, email heminway.seth@gmail.com.
